Swazi village and Mkhaya Game Reserve-Safari

Overview

Our Rural village is about 40kmaway from the Mkhaya Game Reserve where you will join a day tour that will start at 10 am and finish at 4 pm, but you you would like to spend a night then let us know.

Itinerary

Pick up from your Hotel if you dont have car, but if you have your own car the guide will come with you in your own car to show you around the market and drive to the village with you.

Meet us at the meeting point in Manzini town in a place stated for you ( opposite the Boxer Supermarket)

The guide will be with you then you will just let us know if you can make space in the car so that he rides with you and be able to share information with you while you ride

-In town there is a great little market excellent for walking around and seeing all the souvenirs this will take us about 45 mins

After the market then we go to the village the drive is about 1h 30 mins- but the road is not the best we drive slow most times.

-Driving through a nice land scape and the climb up the mountains. if you are driving a small car its also good the road is not so perfect by easy to drive when you are slow.

– Arrive in the village- you will sit in the hut and talk about Swazi culture with us and we and share all the information about the community and the kingdom of eSwatini.

– After this you will have a chance to go around take a short walk and possibly visit the local family , if not that can be done the next day.

– go see the sun set

– come back have some tea

– chill around while waiting for dinner.

– Have Dinner – usually its its Cabbage ,chicken BQQ , beans, Cabbage, done the swazi style.

– Sleep in traditional huts with your family

– Wake up early for the sun rise hike if the weather is great , and get back and have breakfast

– After breakfast you can go visit the primary school and speak to the kids- this can be done the day before since the next day is less time.

Head off to Mkhaya Game Reserve- We leave at latest 830am to be on time for 10am

Day 2

Mkhaya is all about intimate encounters with some of Africa’s icons. All travel within the reserve is solely guided, by open Land Rovers or on foot, providing superb photographic opportunities and probably the best chance of seeing Black Rhino in the wild in Africa today.

Tracking rhinos on foot at Mkhaya is as thrilling as anywhere in Africa. White rhinos are generally approachable and the guides may take you extremely close. Black rhinos are more nervous and aggressive, so tracking them can be an adrenaline-charged affair. Bush walks are not just about big game, but offer a full immersion in the sights, sounds and textures of the bush. Expect to learn about everything from the air-conditioning of a termite mound to the contents of a hyena’s droppings. Afterwards, watching wildlife from a vehicle may seem like watching it on TV.

But let us know what you would like – Day tour or Overnight Stay. Over night Stays start at 4pm and finishes the next day at 10 am.
